Range
The Nicobar pigeon is found on small islands and in coastal regions from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India, east through the Malay Archipelago, to the Solomons and Palau.
Nicobar Pigeon are the closest living relative to the extinct dodo bird. Much like the dodo, Nicobar Pigeon are an island specialist breed found in Southeast Asia. They spend most of their day on the forest floor of the adjacent mainland, foraging for seeds, berries and insects. When it is time to breed, they prefer to form dense colonies on the small , wooded and offshore island.
