The Milky Stork is a large waterbird, standing at 92-97 cm tall. It was named for its milky white feathers. Its heavy yellow beak, its naked facial skin and the iridescent greenish-black flight feathers contract dramatically against its pale plumage. This bird is a predominantly coastal resident of Indonesia, Malaysia and Combodia. It nests in mangrove forests and peat swamps at river mouths but forages mainly on tidal mudflats.
