Range

False gharials are native to Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak, and Indonesia (Sumatra, and Borneo), but were extirpated in Singapore and Thailand.

The False Gharial, is a large freshwater crocodile. It was given this name because of its long and thin snout that resembles the Indian Gharial which is native to Northern India. The False Gharial is only found in Southeast Asia. Very few of the False Gharial's hatchlings survive into adulthood as most of them are consumed by predators such as wild boars and snakes.
