Range
The demoiselle crane is a species of crane found in central Eurosiberia, ranging from the Black Sea to Mongolia and North Eastern China. There is also a small breeding population in Turkey.
Active during the day. Eat seeds, grasses, other plant materials, insects, worms, lizards and other small animals. Gather in large groups to migrate. They maintain a large group during the winter but break up and display regional behavior when nesting in the summer.
